The Trimble BD992 is a dual-antenna GNSS receiver board that delivers centimeter accurate positions and precise heading.
When a single antenna GNSS system is used, it is difficult to establish where the position of the antenna relative to the vehicle and item of interest, especially with low dynamics. Although external sensors could be used to overcome this, they have a tendency to drift when static. Using a dual-antenna GNSS system such as the BD992 overcomes this problem and is the right choice from an economic perspective.
Various configurations are available for this module. These include a DGPS L1 unit right up to a 4 constellation triple frequency RTK unit. This makes it easy to select the receiver that is suitable for the specific application. As the features are all password-upgradeable, functionality can be upgraded as requirements change.
With the latest in precision inertial sensors integrated in the Trimble BD992 it becomes a robust navigation solution, rather than simply a GNSS receiver. Key features include a robust moving baseline RTK for precision landing on moving platforms, and high update rate position and heading measurements.
The Trimble BD992 is easy to integrate with existing applications by using a variety of communication ports and standard web browsers.
