SBG Ellipse2-D: Miniature Dual GNSS INS

The Ellipse2-D is the smallest Inertial Navigation System integrating a dual-antenna, multi-band GNSS receiver, capable of delivering precise heading as well as centimeter level position accuracy in the most challenging GNSS conditions. It provides attitude, heading, heave as well as navigation outputs. The Ellipse-D is an ideal choice for magnetic denied applications and can operate in all dynamic conditions with optimal performance.

Description

Overview

The Ellipse2-D uses an enhanced Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) and contains a MEMS-based Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). These features allows the unit to combine GNSS and inertial data and suitable for use in diverse applications such as data geo-referencing, payload orientation and positioning, and motion and heave monitoring.

The Ellipse2-D offers a compact and cost-effective solution for accurate heading requirements. As it has a dual antenna heading, this eliminates typical magnetic calibration issues that allows it to be used in applications where the magnetic field is not reliable. The integrated Survey-grade L1/L2 GNSS receiver with two antennas allows unmatched position and heading accuracy.

The Ellipse2-D is suitable for applications in marine, land and aerospace applications. It is ideally suited for wave measurement, motion monitoring, and onboard equipment (antennas, camera, etc.) stabilization and orientation, as well as entry-level mobile mapping and car motion monitoring.
