Overview

The DSP-3100 Fiber Optic Gyro from KVH is designed for demanding uses that need very fast data output. In a compact package (shaped like a playing card deck), it provides a high-speed RS-422 interface with 1000 Hz nonsynchronous output. Equipped with a Samtec 26-pin connector, it meets high installation requirements without relinquishing durability, reliability or performance.

Having KVH’s advanced all-fiber optical circuit, DSP-3100 guarantees ultra-low noise, shock and vibration resistance and low sensitivity to cross-axis error. Its rugged, modular design realizes AHRS, integrated GPS/INS and inexpensive inertial measurement units.

Manufactured from the company’s own E-Core polarization-maintaining fiber, the device provides excellent precision and trustworthy performance at lower cost than any other similar fiber optic and mechanical gyroscopes.

Applications include underwater remotely operated vehicles and airborne surveying operations.
